Acupoint injection Therapies

Targeted Homeopathic substances, vitamins and amino acids are injected just under the skin, into fat, muscles and/or ligaments. These substances are more fully absorbed and utilized by the body when used in this way.

So many health problems can benefit for this therapy. Some of the more commonly seen conditions in the clinic are:

Allergies

Pain

Hyper-mobility (joints)

Insomnia Digestive problems

Asthma

Injuries

Low energy Anxiety

Muscle Tension

Poor circulation

Arthritis

Hormonal imbalances

Colds and Flu

and so on……..

Acu-injections are a safe and effective technique used in traditional Chinese Medicine to help reduce both pain and inflammation and to increase the healing time of most injuries. It has been used for many years in both China and Western Europe. In Europe, Doctors have used Homeopathic Medicine and local anaesthetics such as Procaine to naturally treat injuries in the body. In China Doctors have injected Chinese Herbs such as Fu Zi and Dan Shen Dang Gui to help with diseases such as Fibromyalgia and Heart Disease.

These Medicines are injected into muscles or joints by a very fine needle to relieve pain and inflammation. Injections are done at the site of pain, which is also usually the site of trauma to the body so it can produce immediate results and can be done safely for many treatments over a period of time. It is often combined with distal acupuncture points on the meridians.

This Natural Medicine technique is entirely safe! It is not cortisone or any harmful drug. Acupoint injections are for the use of natural medicine with little if any side effects. You may feel a little light-headed after a treatment or need to rest for 15-20 minutes after the treatment so that it can start to work in the body. The results from a short series of treatments can be very long lasting, even in chronic conditions.

The ingredients that are commonly used are:

Procaine, a local anaesthetic, which can last between 30-60 minutes, used to reduce pain and opens up cells to allow other medicines to be absorbed to promote the healing mechanism. Lymphdrial and Traumeel are Homeopathic Medicines used to treat trauma in the body by reducing the inflammation and promoting healing in the body (saline based) Zeel and Quassia are Homeopathic Medicines, which are used for chronic injury to help improve circulation of the lymphatic system to remove toxicity from the site of injury, used to help promote blood circulation at the site of the injury.
The homeopathic products used in the injections are not diluted as much as in traditional homeopathy. That’s why we call them ultra-low doses. How can such a small dose influence your body and stimulate healing? Scientists postulate that these injections are working through the stimulation of the immune system. Let’s compare it with a vaccination. When you receive a tetanus vaccination, only small amounts of a particular product are necessary to stimulate the immune system against lockjaw. In other words, just a few injections can protect your body for years. The idea of the mechanism of action is similar to Biopuncture: small doses of the right product can have an important effect on the defense systems of your body. And that effect can last for months or years.

Recent research has illustrated that Traumeel (a commonly used injection substance in Biopuncture) indeed works via the immune system. In June 2004, an article was published in an important medical journal, Clinical & Developmental Immunology, which is a highly respected journal in conventional medicine.

These ultra-low doses “wake up” mechanisms which are available anyway. So, the healing effect comes from “inside” your body — not from the products themselves. It’s the reaction of your immune system which will produce the proper reactions to regain natural healing. The reaction of your body may be, for example, better local blood circulation, tissue repair, relaxation of muscles or local detoxification. During the reparation of tissue, your body is even more vulnerable and it is a good idea at this stage not to overuse the part which is treated because it is still in the process of repair.

In addition to procaine, homeopathics, B12, other B vitamins, dextrose, nutrients and amino acids can be used to achieve specifically tailored results. Injections can be tailored to the patient to combat fatigue, boost metabolism, eliminate toxins, strengthen joints, and reduce wrinkles!

Where are these injections given?

Most people are surprised at how easily and quickly these injections are given. In fact, these injections cannot be compared to the ‘usual’ injections given in conventional medicine. They are not as painful as an injection in, for example, a hospital because the needle used is very fine and the quantity injected is very small. Most of them are given into or just under the skin, others are given into specific muscle points or into your ligaments. They are administered in carefully chosen spots.

Usually you will receive several injections each session. For example, if your practitioner wants to work on your liver, he or she will give about seven little injections under the skin on your belly. When you have pain in your elbow, your practitioner will look for several painful spots in your arm muscles or elbow ligaments, and inject each of them in one session. In such a case, you may receive anything from three to ten small injections in your elbow, neck or arm. So in most cases, several little injections are given in a specific zone (or in several areas) of the body at each session.

Is there an element of risk with such injections?

Your practitioner is trained and certified to do this technique. Stringent attention is paid to utilizing sterile and safe techniques at every step of your treatment. It is possible you may end up with a bruise or some pain at the site of injection the next day. You may also feel a bit tired the first 24 hours after a detox treatment because your body uses a lot of energy in order to repair tissue or to drain toxins.

What can I expect after an injection?

Sometimes you improve immediately after the first injection. Such an immediate improvement is rather likely to happen when dealing with a fresh sports injury and when your immune system is working properly. But when dealing with complaints that have persisted for months or years, the injured tissues need some time to heal. Then you will need several sessions before you notice any improvement. Sometimes the practitioner has to change the product or the place of injection before you start feeling better.

You may feel worse temporarily, experiencing more pain or discomfort. This temporary worsening of complaints usually means that the healing processes are being activated. In Biopuncture this is called the “reaction phase” and it means that real healing is on its way.

It is also important to give the body the opportunity to heal itself. Especially if it is an old or complicated injury, it may take a while before the tissues or functions get repaired. While the body repairs itself, the “reparation zone” may be extra fragile. During this “reparation phase” you should not overuse that zone. In other words, don’t go working in the garden the day after you received injections in your low back muscles.
