A little background

Highlights of my Post Graduate studies include:
Herbal Medicine
Chinese Herbal Medicine is a licensed health profession in BC. Not everyone who practices Acupuncture practisises Chinese Herbal Medicine. Registered Practitioners of Chinese Medicine and Dcotors of Traditional Chinese Medicine are able to diagnose according to principles of Chinese Medicine as well as prescribe and dispense Chinese Herbal Medicine. The biggest pieces of my post graduate education and development as a practitioner have been my long term studies into Classical Chinese Herbal Medicine with The institute of Classics of East Asian Medicine which has been continuous since 2012.Acupuncture

Therapeutic modalities I use in clinic:
Acupuncture
By stimulating the body’s various internal healing mechanisms, acupuncture can help resolve pain, improve sleep, support digestive function, and improve overall health and well-being. I use a combination of various needling techniques dependant on the patient and the issue we are working on. These can include very gentle needle techniques such as Japanese style Acupuncture, as well as orthopaedic styles of needling such as motor point needling and IMS (intramuscular stimulation).Traditional Chinese Medicine
Although Acupuncture was the first modality to gain wide acceptance in the West, Chinese Herbal Medicine is the main modality within Chinese Medicine. The emphasis is to not only address the disease or the symptoms you’re experiencing, but also addresses the underlying pattern of function in your body. Beyond the four years of education that is standard to all Registered Practitioners of Chinese Medicine, I have also been formally studying with one of the most respected teachers of Chinese Herbal Medicine in the world today – Dr. Arnaud Versluys and I have completed a two year post graduate program in Classical Chinese Medicine at The Institute of Classics of East Asian Medicine (www.iceam.org) and continue to pursue advanced herbal medicine studies with them.Cupping Massage
Cupping uses suction to decompress and stretch tight areas while also flushing out toxins and improving local circulation. Alleviates muscle tension and helps to resolve circulation issues related to injury healing.Injection Therapies
When therapies like acupuncture and cupping massage aren’t bringing about significant results, injection therapies are very effective tools to address pain and injuries by releasing tight areas that may be leading to trapped and inflamed nerve fibres, as well and stimulating regeneration in damaged tissues and restoring stability.Arthritis Treatment Kelowna
